Founded in July 2000, the School of Management of Tianjin University of Technology is one of the earliest schools and departments offering undergraduate management education in China, which was the Department of Industrial Management established in 1979 and the Training Center of Cost Engineer established in 1997. In 2019, the former International Business Administration School was integrated into the School, further improving its scale and characteristics.
Adhering to the core values of "Diligence, Modesty, Devotion" and the mission of "contributing business knowledge and develop management professionals with social responsibility and a global mindset for regional growth", the School strives to build an excellent school of management with balanced development of engineering and management and equal emphasis on teaching and research.
It has a reasonable discipline layout and a complete training system for undergraduate, master and doctoral talents. It has one first-level discipline authorized to offer degree program in Management Sciences and Engineering, two first-level disciplines authorized to offer master program in Management Sciences and Engineering and Business Administration, five first-level disciplines authorized to offer professional master's degree program in Industrial Engineering and Management, Logistics Engineering and Management, Engineering Management (MEM), Accounting (MPAcc) and Business Administration (MBA), and a program in Master of Project Management (MPM) with Sino-foreign cooperation. Besides, there are 11 undergraduate programs in the school, including 4 national first-class undergraduate program construction points and 2 Tianjin first-class undergraduate program construction points.
Currently, the School contains more than 4000 full-time students, of which about 20% are postgraduates, and 170 faculty members, including 33 professors, 49 associate professors and 16 Ph.D. students’ tutors. The school boosts one state-level renowned teacher, two Tianjin renowned teachers, one Tianjin young top talent, four Tianjin distinguished chair professors, and a large number of young and middle-aged backbone teachers, such as Tianjin "five-batch" talents, university discipline leading talents and "131" innovative talents.
Since 2015, the school has been committed to the AACSB Accreditation. And after the Eligibility Application (EA), iSER and SER, it will receive an on-site visit in June.
